Grimstad
Telenor Cyberdefence also has impressive facilities in Grimstad, established as an extension of the Telenor SOC (Security Operations Center).
Here, security analysts and security engineers work with a clear focus: protecting Norwegian and Nordic organizations against cyber threats.
The new offices are located next to the University of Agder, Grimstad Campus, and this proximity to academia plays an important role.
The collaboration with UiA provides the company with access to new knowledge and talent—through lectures, lab assignments, bachelor’s and master’s projects, and dedicated hacking competitions organized within the innovative Bluebox environment.
These environments offer opportunities to connect with other players in the field, exchange ideas, and collaborate to find effective solutions. At the same time, we contribute to building security knowledge within the local community—something that’s important not only to us, but to others working with technology and development as well.
With deep expertise in detection, prevention, and response, along with cloud-based solutions such as Microsoft Azure, the company is well positioned to meet the growing demand for cybersecurity services in the Norwegian market.
"We build on years of experience, having handled everything from targeted phishing campaigns and ransomware extortion to more complex attacks on critical infrastructure. And we do this while continuously evolving and adopting modern security technologies," says Henrik.
The team at Telenor Cyberdefence brings diverse experience from sectors such as oil and energy, consultancy, and public administration. Henrik has played a key role in building Telenor’s 24/7 SOC and has a strong focus on the commercial aspects of security services.
"Our goal is to make security services relevant, scalable, and cost-effective for our customers. We understand that security is not a one-size-fits-all solution, so we focus on understanding each customer’s unique needs and risk landscape."
"We aim to deliver services that not only protect against threats, but also provide real business value—by strengthening trust in the market and ensuring operational continuity," Henrik adds.
Focus on Collaboration and Recruitment
Through its membership in Digin, Telenor Cyberdefence aims to strengthen collaboration with other member companies and expand its professional network. Recruitment is also a key area of focus. By working closely with students and local educational institutions, and actively participating in informal arenas such as Agder Sec, the company hopes to inspire young talents to pursue a career in cybersecurity.
"It’s important for us to show young talents that this is an industry full of opportunity—where they can take part in solving complex challenges that have real societal impact," says Vidar.
